Suicide Squeeze Records

Suicide Squeeze Records is a Seattle, Washington-based independent record label that releases rock, pop, and metal music. Founded in 1996 by David Dickenson, it got its start releasing singles by artists such as Elliott Smith and Modest Mouse. The label has grown from Dickenson's full-time hobby into a respected independent music institution over nearly three decades.

Suicide Squeeze releases content on vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital formats, and has also ventured beyond traditional music releases by putting out comedy and performance art CDs and DVDs. The label maintains a strong commitment to vinyl pressing, reflecting its dedication to physical music formats in an increasingly digital world.

The label's early success came through releasing work by notable Pacific Northwest artists, with owner David Dickenson recalling how Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock used to come into Hot Lips, a pizza place that I worked at on the Ave, and he'd be selling these dial-a-song cassettes before the band achieved wider recognition. This grassroots approach has remained central to the label's identity.
